SELECTIONS from the COLLECTION of Mildred’s Lane Part I

It is a long standing collegial practice among artists to gift each other their work as a token of mutual respect and affection – an act of exchange as well as sentiment.

Friends, students and colleagues have gifted works to Mark Dion and J. Morgan Puett (co-directors of Mildred's Lane) over the last twenty or so years. Among theseworks are early pieces and idiosyncratic works of artists now understood as significant figures in twenty-first century contemporary art. As we refresh and renovate The Mildred Complex(ity) project space at 37b Main Street in Narrowsburg, NY; it seems a wonderful opportunity to share a viewing of the Mildred's Lane Collection with our community.

This year, we have received a Pollock-Krasner grant to help conserve, repair and archive some of these small wonders. This is the first opportunity to exhibit thecollection and we hope to be able to unveil more works as our archival and conservation work continues.

We proudly feature some of our friends and supporters of Mildred’s Lane in this exhibition. There will be a reception later this spring. On show are a few photographs, prints, paintings and drawings from:
