Resident-Artist-in-Complexity Meet Samiha Tasnim

Samiha Tasnim is the current Resident-Artist-in-Complexity at Mildred's Lane — a young architect working in collaboration with the south-facing landscape and with J. Morgan Puett's vision for the Arboreality Trailhead Field Station. Over six residencies at Mildred's Lane, she has become a deeply rooted presence and is a member of the Advisory Council of Artists.

Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 1996, Samiha grew up in the city before completing high school in 2015. She received her B.A. in Art Studio from Mount Holyoke College in 2020, and shortly thereafter joined Mildred's Lane as a Resident Artist in Complex(ity). In 2025, she completed her graduate studies at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), earning a Master of Architecture.

Mildred’s Lane embraces complex versatility of resident artists and is a place where projects emerge every day, everywhere – in the kitchen laboratory she is teaching us to prepare scrumptious dumplings. In the garden, she is upgrading our 29-year-old compost system making that workstyles activity more refined for everyone to understand.

We invite your support for artist residencies at Mildred's Lane. This year we are building fellowships for individuals and small groups to convene and work on their own projects — on site at Mildred's Lane, Pennsylvania, and in Narrowsburg, NY at The Mildred Complex(ity) Project Space and Annex.
