ARBOREAL(ity) | Forum & Supper | October 25, 2025
Join us for this historic, one-day FORUM & SUPPER
Saturday, October 25th
1pm - SUNSET
ARBOREAL(ity) is an ongoing interdisciplinary project investigating histories and propositions for discreet interventions in the deep and dying forests.
This FORUM will address this landscape’s state of REALITY in this era of climate shifting. The awareness we endeavor to share aims to recognize how little we know about the situation and to discuss what we can do about it – thinking through ARBOREAL(ity) as transhistorical walks, talks, and awakenings.
The Mildred’s Lane, PA Forest is a Petrie-dish of case studies, facing numerous sustainability challenges, and emerging threats to our wooded landscape – the Ash trees are already dead, and the Hemlock trees are rapidly succumbing to pestilent insect species. We need to discover other forthcoming threats and environmental horrors throughout the U.S. Northeastern corridor. This will soon decimate these forests throughout the northeastern corridor.
Join us for wilding walks and talks with naturalist author Laura Silverman of the Outside Institute, talking rhizomes of trees and recognizing the invasive species that threaten them; including artists David Brooks and Mark Dion, talking about Arboreal projects; be with the stream as Peter Warny, Naturalist at Large, seeks life in the shaded waters of the forest; look through the lens of landscape architect, Mark Thomann of Wilding X Why, who has worked in this landscape on multiple projects. View the photographic studies by artist, Jeffrey Jenkins in the Department of Inter-stitch-iaries/Quonset Building; and end the day discoursing around supper with guest chef Monique, Milleson of Ant Hill Farm Agroforestry.
Enjoy a day in the woods with us. Be involved. Become a MEMBER.
